I always love when someone takes a cruise and makes a web page with photos and a story like you were there yourself when reading it, here is one page I found online that's dose just that but this ship herself is also very interesting.

Its a July, 1994 voyage to the North Pole on a nuclear Russia ship named Yamal. This voyage seem to also set some records like the ship herself.

Hi! I use to work for Quark Expeditions who did cruises to the North Pole. It's pretty neat stuff, if you can afford it! You can visit their website under their full name.com

Cruisetalker James has done 2 or maybe 3 Quark Expeditions, a review of one is on the left under Globalquest, and on another Kapitan Khlebnikov trip he was joined by 'Students on Ice' who have a fantastic website documenting their trips, see here. if you look under 'Student expeditions' then archived trips, he was on the 2002 Arctic Expedition.
Always something I dream of doing, but my purse doesn't cover the cost, yet.

I'd just love to go to Antarctica and the North Pole.

However, I think I will have to wait to Carnival go! Then there be a bloody 'McDonald's' at each pole.

Draiker, thankyou for that link, I realy enjoyed that. Love to go back to the ice again either north or south (but preferably south)
Some of you know I was down in the Antartic on my National service & I have scanned on to webshots some of my rather poor photos in black & white taken with a cheap camera & film, well it was only 3/6d a day NS pay (30 cents US). Photos do include a couple of postcards of Salvesons whale factory ships at that time. link is
