Well after accidently stumbing over this ship the other day, I decided to go back and take a photo or two whilst it slipped out of Fremantle port this evening.

Does anyone know much about this ship or the places it visits? (I know its recently visited Bali, Fremantle & Singapore)

As far as I know, the ship is operated by Nippon Charter Cruise, and is dedicated to group charters. The ship has a 2-storey Main Hall with 600 seats, an another smaller theatre with 142 seats. The ship has a library, salon, swimming pool, fitness centre and various lounges.

She has also visited Hong Kong before. Does anyone have her schedule?

There are some small but nice internal photos here, on a lighting museum page.

As I posted in other topic, She is now operating by Nippon Charter Cruises and is now under charter of Hyogo Joint Summer Session at Sea.

As phil_a posted, She was called Bali and Fremantle already.
She will visit Singapore and Huangpu en route from Fremantle.

Note: Kobe is situated in Hyogo Prefecture.

And here is a photo of the beautiful NIPPON MARU
docked at Singapore Cruise Centre October 2002 IIRC.

Regards,
Mike--in cloudy, humid and hot Taipei.

P.S. George, take care now that the typhoon is in Japan.

Hi Mike,

The photo clearly seen the singapore's ropeway over Nippon Maru.
It was probably taken between October 25 and 31 2002.

P.S. Thanks Mike for your thought

Typhoon is Kyushu now though we live in the suburb of Tokyo.

Yes, that is the right time frame when I took this photo. I knew it was in Singapore, just was not certain of the exact date. (I'm not quite senile yet! )

I was either about to board Virgo, or just disembarked when I took the photo.

Andy, yes, the cable car to Sentosa Island is still operating. Great views from up there.

Regards,
Mike

Mike,

Have you been in Langkawi and Phuket on that cruise?
I beleive the photo was taken either October 27 or 30.

Sentosa Island is connected by ferry sevice or Ropeway(from Mt. Faber) only until early 90s though there is a bridge now.
