Seems that the Legend (and Splendour) from
RCI will be in the Mediterranean next summer.
After reading a couple of reviews, it seems
that the Legend is preferable to the Splendour.
As well, Celebrity will be locating the
Century there.

Has anyone cruised on those two ships before?
And can offer some advise as to which is
better? I've only sailed on the Sun Princess
before (in 1996).

thanks,
Fran

I have sailed on both the Legend of the Seas and the Century. By far, the Century is a nicer ship, the service and food were far superior on the Century than on the Legend.

If you have sailed on the Sun Princess, then I would choose the Century (I sailed on the Sun to Alaska May 96). It would be more comparable to the Princess experience, although not quite as good (IMHO).

I've sailed on the Century and it is a superior class ship ONCE YOU GET ON. We had many delays in getting our tickets from Celebrity this year. Don't let that stop you as Royal Caribbean bought Celebrity and ticketing may be the same. And Celebrity may have captains that don't run aground like the Monarch of the Seas.

Dear love 2 cruise,
Haven't been on the Legend, but I've sialed the Century twice, once before RCI bought Celebrity & once after the 'sale of the Century' and all her relatives. I still found the warmth and great service that I've come to expect from Celebrity. I think Century to Europe would be just about the ultimate cruise. It's really a very lovely ship.

I went on the Legend in May 1998. It was the best ship that I ever went on. It was gorgeous. Also, the staff was unbelievable. They really catered to you in a way that I haven't seen elsewhere.

Just came back from a two week cruise on the Legend of the Seas and found this to be my best vacation yet. I have sailed on Celebritys galaxy, and Holland America and Carnival and enjoy RCCLs the best. The staff was excellent always trying to please, the ship was wonderfull the food was good. The dining staff were the best we ever had and we are planning a royal Journey tour on the same ship in December of this year because we like the ship so much.

Looks like everyone has their favorite. I have yet to be on the Century Class type ship but have been on the Horizon & Zenith . Was on the Splendour also. Kind of a toss up really. Found food & service on Celbrity a little more up than Splendour but the Splendour was more organized. Lineups off and on etc. I would do either and just let the itinery and times of sailing make up my mind. cheers

I'd go for Celebrity, just a notch above RCL.
