sorry to say I've not been a passenger on the Paradise -- Carnival's newest ship. I have however just returned from a wonderful cruise on their "Elation" (maiden voyage in Feb '98).
We found the Elation to have a warm, comfortable, friendly atmosphere with great service.
I've just read posts at this forum that criticized Carnival ships for having a "party" ambiance....hehehe....who would want to socialize with happy, upbeat people on their vacation??.....forced "toniness" is so hilarious, isn't it?
Not to worry, if your experience on the Paradise is half as rewarding as ours was on Elation, it will be a relaxing, mind-expanding and fully satisfying vacation.
Thanks for the information. It was nice of you to reply. What islands did you visit?
The islands that we went to are San Juan (very nice), St. Lucia (beautfiul), St. Thomas (beautiful), Grenada (nice), and Guadeloupe (too conjested). They all have beautfil beaches and lots of shopping.
Just thought I would throw my two cents in for Carnival. My wife and I took our first cruise last year on the Imagination. We had a wonderful time and it was the most relaxing vacation I've ever been on (I don't generally relax much!).
Our only real complaint was the amount of time we spent trying to find a smoke-free location. That's why we decided to do it again this May onboard the Paradise! We never even considered a different cruise line.
My wife and I are taking our first cruise at the end of this on the Paradise. I will let you know how it turns out.
