I'm looking for info. and reviews of the Zenith. I am going in Sept. to Bermuda. Any info as far as night life on the ship, lounges with the best views and overall atmosphere of the ship would be helpful. Can I join the Captains Club if this is my 1st cruise w/Celebrity? Thank you!

It definitely is worth it to pay the $35 once in a lifetime fee to join the Captain's Club, but I am not certain if you can join it before your first cruise. Call 1-800-760-0654, and they will tell you. In any event it permits early embarkation/disembarkation, ability to visit other Celebrity ships, private cocktail party on board, etc.
My husband and I cruised on her for 13 nights from New York to Acapulco, and we found the ship very clean, which was important to us. Someone was always polishing the brasswork in the stairwell, etc.
The cuisine was equivalent to that we have found on the Q.E. 2, and the service superior. Our waiter, Hector, had previously served on an Arabian King's yacht, and was one of the best we have had over some 25 cruises. What is nice on Celebrity is the fact that they use silverware and linen and glassware at the lido dining area, unlike some plastic and paper of other ships. A steward is always stationed at the end of the buffet line to take one's tray.
The fitness director, Keith, was wonderful and for $35 for an hour worked with me to set up an individual fitness program which was tailored to my age, weight, and fitness level. I have used this program for the past year and have lost 10 pounds.
Because the Zenith is a medium size ship we felt her to be more intimate than some of the impersonal behemoths.
Our cabin was what we considered small at 174 square feet, but that is generous for the industry. It was very compact, however, and contained all the amenities: in cabin t.v. where you could order a shore excursion, wine for dinner, room service, etc., in cabin safe, hairdryer, plenty of closet space. And our cabin steward on the top deck was wonderful. Everything was spick and span, the towels were replenished twice a day, the ice bucket kept filled, etc. and etc.
We felt the entertainment excellent, and there was music to cater to every taste.
The only negative we experienced was the quality of the on-board lecturers. We had hoped for someone to give interesting talks on the construction, etc. of the Panama Canal, but all we got were "shop" talks about each port we visited. We were hoping for something more highbrow than "how to pack your suitcase" or "your colors and you." Hope I have been of help.

KLD,
I worked on the ZENITH for about 4 months and I was impressed! In fact I brought the Zenith across the Atlantic from the shipyard in Papenburg Germany to the states for the first time, and I was of course on the maiden voyages to the eastern and western Caribbean. When you sail on the Zenith and you see the ping pong tables on deck aft, well, I put them together, and I also helped to stock the books in the library. I worked on Royal Caribbean ships, the Song of America and the Nordic Prince and I also worked on the QE-2. I felt that the dinning was the best I had seen on a cruise ship, and they worked very hard to provide the best possible service. My favorite place to sit and hang out for the view was the Fleet Bar on the Marina Deck forward. When you go to Bermuda, be very carful if you intend to rent a moped, I've seen too many passengers go ashore and come back all scraped up because they got in a wreck on a moped. They drive on the left side of the roads in Bermuda, so it is confusing. When the ship is docked there is virtually no entertainment,( stage shows ) so enjoy all that bermuda has to offer as far as evening entertainment. The ship is basically your hotel in Bermuda. You'll still be able to enjoy all the wonderful dinning! Have a great cruise and be sure to tell us about when you return.
