Has anyone sailed aboard the Galaxy recently and if so, has the serious vibration I've heard about in the Orion Dining Room when leaving port been rectified? Is it really as serious as some reviews say it is?

Jon/ I've never been on the Galaxy.. but; every ship that I have been on vibrates sometime or other. When leaving port is usually when they seem to be up to this so is likely to do with Thrusters and other methods of ensuring they don't go wrong with the way the captain wants his ship to go. I've never found it to be a "big" concern but it certainly rattles the dishes and stuff at times. Maybe dine at second seating and you will not notice it as much. Don't forget it is a ship not a solid hotel dining room. Been on Celebrity & RCI.

I agree. I sailed on the Century last year, and there was some minor vibration; however, they seem to be making quite an issue of it on the Galaxy. I always dine second seating, so I doubt if it's going to be a problem. I'm not going to let it ruin my cruise. Thanks for the input.

On most all of our cruises, there has been a loy of vibration upon leaving port or docking due to the use of thrusters.Sure can shake up the glasswear but remember it only lasts a few minutes. We're not talking steady vibration for hours on end. We've been on anything from 500 passenger to very large ships.

Was on the Mercury in January and our table was on the lower level towards the back. There was very bad vibration and engine noise several evenings, caused (according to the waiter) by an increase in speed. Poor design in my opinion.

Try to get seated on the upper level and it shouldn't be as bad. Was on the upper level on the Century and loved it.
