Considering NCL, RCI. and Princess. Which would be best (we're celebrating our 25th!) We are certified scuba divers, and want to see Costa Rica-which port is best?

We just got back from a round-trip cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale that transits the Panama Canal halfway. It was on the Regal Princess. The cruise was great! As far as diving goes, we stopped at Grand Cayman, where you can dive 'the wall', and in Cozumel where divers usually go to Palancar Reef. Both were beautiful, although I'm a snorkler (not a diver). Because of the length of cruise 10 days, the passengers were an elderly crowd on Princess, but still lots of fun. We stopped in Limon Costa Rica on Good Friday, so a everything in town was closed and a lot of the shore excursions were cancelled. No diving there, but we took a canal tour to see some wildlife, which was nice. Maybe west coast of Costa Rica has dive possibilities. I would recommend a trip to the rainforest, because the wildlife is pretty cool. Have fun.

I would choose Princess for the Panama Canal
cruise depending on which ship[s] they're
using. Although I like the Regal and Crown
Princesses, they have limited areas for
outdoor viewing and it is difficult to find
a place for forward viewing.....both of which
I think are important for Panama Canal trips.
The Royal Princess would be a better choice
if she is doing the Canal.

Cruised with Princess to Panama Canal. Very old age group. Terrible entertainment unless you like world war II songs, and trio"s. Very little dancing! The dining room staff is not very attentive. We hadto ask for water, bread etc. Go RCCL or NCL or my favorite Celebrity.
