No apology needed. One of my favorite scenes was Lucy as a Brooklyn moll in a wide brim hat talking the dese-dems-and doze, which was the prototype for Fran Dresher and a typical Carnival passenger type.

You might get tossed from the dining room if you showed up in a tee shirt (tank style) at dinner. (Definitely if it is a Royal Caribbean tee shirt.) Or they might ask you to cover up.
Otherwise you are good to go.
PS -- If you want to ware something more or even get dressed up like the pictures go right ahead ....
