Ok, here's a visual cruise trivia question. Name the two ships in the photo below. The one to the right should be easy.

Well...
the one at the right is the Grand Princess (109,000 tons). But the one at the left it tricky. Maybe a Norweigen ship?

Hello everybody,
The small ship seems to be the TRITON of Royal Olympic Cruise launched in 1971.
She was the CUNARD ADVENTURER and then, the SUNWARD II. She became TRITON in 1992.
14.110 grt; 486 ft X70.5 ft; 912 passengers.
What an evolution between the two ships on the picture in twenty five years!
Bye!

Well the big one is definitely the Grand Princess, but the smaller one is certainly tricky, but could it be the "Seawing".
Great shot by the way - would love to have taken that myself.

What a GREAT picture! Who took that? The little Triton, looks like a lifeboat from the Grand Princes was lowered!

Great example of just how staggering the dimensions of the Grand Princess are. Seeing it for real for the first time was an incredible experience.

The Grand Princess is easy...but I think the one on the left is the Bolero which used to belong to N.C.L. but I can't remember N.C.L.'s name for her. The Starward maybe?

I'm with Magnum. I think the one on the left is the former NCL ship Starward.

very easy...
Royal Olympic Cruises´MTS TRITON and Princess Cruises´MS GRAND PRINCESS.

Interesting about the TRITON might be, that she once sailed for Norwegian Cruise Lines as the SUNWARD II and from that time she has kept her twin-funnel. The TRITION, originally build as the CUNARD ADVENTURER (looks like a smaller version of the RHAPSODY (ex CUNARD PRINCESS) and OLYMPIC COUNTESS (ex CUNARD COUNTESS)) became this twin-funnel when NCL purchased the ship. All the former NCL ships had these funnels: the SEAWING (ex SOUTHWARD), but not her sistership FLAMENCO (ex SPIRIT OF LONDON) because she was never taken over by NCL, the BOLERO (ex STARWARD)and her sistership LEISURE WORLD (ex SKYWARD).

Hello everybody,
Several answers were given since a month, several ones were right and some others were wrong (like in any trivia and the searches to do are as nice as the right answer itself).
Maybe Joe at Travelpage could give the "official" answer of this now "old" question and ask another one to let us to search again about this new one?
Thank you Joe. Bye.

Answer time...

A number of you were correct. The ship to the right is the Grand Princess in all her glory. The ship to the left is Royal Olympic's Triton. The picture was taken last summer by TravelPage.com's cruise editor Mark Goldberg during a stop in the Greek Isles.

A new visual cruise trivia question will be posted soon.
