Help! I must choose between Horizon's 11 night ultimate Caribbean and the 7 night western caribbean on the Mercury. Same sort of cabin on each (outside) and believe it or not the same price. What are the pro's and con's of the 11 night. Any info greatly appreciated.

Take the 11 night. We used to take 7 days and found that we would start meeting people on the 4th day or so and the next thing you knew you were getting off the ship. If it's the same price, same cabin, it really is better. Remember the first day and last day you are busy, unpacking, packing, etc. so you really only have 5-6 days onthe ship. If it is ship that goes to a port every day, this can be tiring on a 7 day cruise.
Have fun, no matter which one you take.

Cathy, I would say the Horizon 11 night would be your best choice - but make sure you get a category 5,6, or 7

Go for the eleven night. We've been on the horizon four times ( 3 seven night cruises and one ten night ) you can get to meet more people on a longer cruise and it seems to be more relaxing. If it's thesame price and you have the time, it doesn't seem to be much of a choice. go for eleven

cathyb,as far as cruising goes, less is not more; only more is more. Snap up the 11-nighter, and you're buying yourself 4 more days of pampering. We've been on Horizon, and although it's not the biggest or newest ship plying the waters, it's a lovely place to call home for 11 nights! The food on that ship is superb; we think even a little better than the food on Century, Galaxy or Zenith. Sorry, I can't rate Mercury (yet). The ultimate Carib. itinerary is more variety than Western Carib., too.

Cathy:
I agree with all of those advising you to go for the 11 nighter. We cruised on the Zenith, the Horizon's sister ship, two years ago and it was one of our best. I like the smaller size. Feels more like a ship than a city.
I would like to know when and to where the Horizon is offering this deal. Sounds great.

We have done one 10-day and one 11-day cruise on the Horizon and are scheduled for our 2nd 10-day in November! Can't wait! We have done several 7-day cruises, but now prefer the longer ones. If you're getting that good of a deal, GO FOR IT! You won't be sorry...Horizon is a wonderful ship with excellent food and service! ENJOY!
