Have been on three Princess Cruises, on the Star Princess (now sold), Regal Princess and Sky Princess. My cruises had good service, food and entertainment. Princess is a little more upscale and has a little older crowd, but being in my late 50's, I don't mind that at all. Only thing I didn't like was that the lunch buffet was sometimes not up to par.

Have been on 17 Princess cruises and am booked for new Ocean Princess March 2000 and Royal for June 2000.
Princess is excellent in every way and really is traveling in "Grand Style" regardless of the ship.

Been on one Princess Cruise to South America on the Royal Princess. Missed three ports of call and spent 2 days patrolling the sea to pick up tender boats left in Faulklands. Booked thru Cruise One. Overall negative experience. Will never sail on Princess again (never say never?).

I have been on two Princess Cruises, and couldn't find anything to complain about. Everything is well organised and the staff is friendly, food excellent, cabins comfy. I've cruised with P & O, the Greeks and the Germans, but Princess is still my favourite line. Give it a try !

I've been on one Princess cruise, one Celebrity cruise, one Carnival cruise, and one NCL cruise, and although Celebrity is my favorite (I have one booked already with another in the planning stages), I wouldn't hesitate to take another Princess cruise either. I found the activities on Princess to be good, the cabins were clean and well laid out, the food was good (not as good as Celebrity) and the entertainment top notch (Broadway style). Service was good (much better than NCL), but I feel Celebrity's service is better. The age of the passengers I'm finding seems to be about the same on all the lines except Carnival. My Carnival cruise was a 4 day one and the passengers were very young (20's and 30's) and more interested in drinking and partying. I'm in my mid-30's, but I like to go on vacation to relax, not party, so Carnival is not for me. I won't even go into their food or service....just suffice it to say I'll not be looking for a Carnival cruise again in the future.

I was on the Grand Princess. The overall experience was great. I didn't like having to pay for ice cream though. Also, there was no midnite buffet! They claim that since they had a 24hr restaurant that took the place of the traditional buffet. The restaurant was buffet style during normal dining hours, but after a certain time it was from a menu and had waiter service. The gratuity had to be paid after the meal and couldn't be charged on the cruise card. Of course, I wasn't carrying any cash. To put a positive spin on that situation. The waiter who helped us was excellent, very attentive. When I told him of cash flow problem, he was very nice and told me not to worry about it. He seemed embarassed for me. Needless to say I hunted him down the very next day and found him working poolside. I was more than generous. After that incident I would go back, nice laid back group of passengers.

I have been on a number of cruises, and Princess has been our favorite. We have NOT been on any of the newest "big honkers," however. Our favorite, the Star Princess, is now gone, but the Crown and Regal Princesses are very similar.

While the newer Princess ships have smaller cabins, the older ones have very commodious rooms. The Crown has about 600 fewer passengers than the similarly sized Carnival ships, and it shows when you are aboard. The food has usually been very good (with one exception, which was partially due to an inexperienced waiter and partially due to it being the first cruise of the Alaska season), and the choices have been excellent. Princess' ground organization was excellent, and their Alaska operation was the smoothest we have ever seen.

Nothing's perfect, of course...
