Planning an Alaskan cruise in June 2000 and would like advice on the best time to book it. Would I get a better price if I booked now or should I wait until about 6 months before. Also, does anyone know if Latitudes customers on NCL (repeat customers) get a good deal on price? We're on the Norwegian Sky December 12th and will qualify as a repeat customer. From what I've heard, the SKY will be a beautiful ship. If I like the Sky, we'll probably stay with NCL - but I've heard great things about HAL. Any opinions...?

Book now if you want then you get your choice of cabin. Don't know if HAL'S brochures are out yet, but their web site lists 2000 Alaska cruises. Don't know anything about NCL.
We have sailed only with HAL for many, many years and enjoyed every cruise.
Compare prices and then make your choise.
Alaska is wonderful. We went about thE 12th of June in '88 and weather was good - great day in Glacier Bay. With weather you never know, had an e-mail today from a friend whose husband is a Chief Officer on one of the HAL
ships and they have had fog all week. Good Luck.

Like Sympatico, we're HAL people.
To my knowledge none of the 2000 brochures are available yet but I would advise studying the '99 brochures - most everything except prices will be the same - decide on your preferred dates (give or take a day or two either way) and itinerary and make the required deposit. You'll have a wide choice of cabins and in all probability an early booking discount. We did a land tour and cruise with HAL at the end of June, beginning of July - the weather was fantastic. In Alska, you pay your money and take your chance. Check all other posts on Alaska.
Some interesting web sites have been sugested. Enjoy!

I have just been consulting with my "Cruise Consultant" about Alaska 2000. She said the brochures will be out in September, but that I can certainly look at the '99s to get an idea of what I want to do, but to wait for the new brochures and prices to be published before I "plan" anything.
