It's interesting that you should post a pic of an airlift from the Norway since we had the same occurrance during our transatlantic on the Norway last month. We didn't actually see it, but heard the announcement asking everyone to clear the pool deck. From what we heard later, an elderly person had a heart attack and a British air rescue helicopter team performed the airlift.
And MagnmPI, you are correct, at least in the case of the airlift last month, they never stopped the ship (of course it takes nearly a mile to stop the Norway from cruising speed anyway.) They might have slowed a bit, but again, we were not able to get up on deck to view this.
