We are taking our first cruise on the Grandeur of the Seas (RCI) next month. I would love any information or advice as I am a very novice cruiser.

Cruised on The Grandeur last year. This was my 6th cruise, and one of the best. I traveled with my parents and three of my sisters, so most age groups were represented (my folks are in their 70's, and sisters are 33, 41 and 46). The Grandeur is a beautiful and elegant ship - glass elevators and a gorgeous atrium - great spots to take photos. The food was superior, and the wait staff extremely attentive. Even our head waiter spent time at our table every night (of course, several of my sisters are very attractive). Dining was an enjoyable experience, the grand finale buffet is spectacular. We chose to have room service every morning just so we could dress and get out because there is so much to do. My mother did no feel like getting dressed for dinner two nights, so she had the room service for dinner and it was fine. The room service menu for breakfast, lunch or snack is limited, but adequate. Our cabin service was again superior. We actually tipped our cabin steward when we arrived (that was my sister's idea) and asked that he keep our ice buckets replenished because we would enjoy a beverage when we were in our cabin for any amount of time. The casino was smaller than other ships I have been on, but we had a great time and my younget sister won the the slots tournament ($500 and a trophy)! That's a fun tournament to get into - it is only about $10 and you don't have to be casino savvy - just know how to pull that handle! Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines is my favorite - my parents enjoyed Princess, but Royal Caribbean has a wide range of activities something for any age group. I have cruised with Carnival, and had a great time on that ship as well. You will have a wonderful time on The Grandeur of the Seas. The staff is outstanding and we have lots of great memories. If you have not cruised before, just know that the cabins are small just like everyone says, but most of the time you just sleep and dress there. And leave with a positive attitude about having a great time. It took years to talk my parents into cruising, but they are now hooked. Cruising does get into your blood and I think it is just the best vacation - you have your transportation, lodging, restaurants and entertainment all built into one package. If I can answer any questions, feel free to email me. (e-mail is depace717@aol.com) Enjoy! Diane

Sailed Grandour last year. Great ship.We haved 9 cruises under our belts this was one of the best. You'll have a great time. Service was wonderful everywhere on the ship Our Waiter was exceptional not overly friendly but fun. Just remember to relax you may want to try everything. Read your daily bullitin and plan your day. A nap in the afternoon is not a bad idea as nights are very long but fun. Leave your diet at home. a
