Considering cruising Holland America and was wondering which is their best ship. We sailed the NCL Sea last year and although it was a great trip, I found the ship to be old. Well kept but old.

Is there a big difference in the quality of an HAL cruise and a NCL cruise?

Thanks

I have sailed on the old ROTTERDAM V and the new ROTTERDAM VI,the RYNDAM,the STATENDAM and the WESTERDAM. Of the 2 ROTTERDAMS I prefer the new one. I thoroughly enjoyed the RYNDAM and the STATENDAM but I would never go on the WESTERDAM again.I like a comfortable bed and mine was like sleeping on a lumpy rock. My table companions complained of the same thing. Also, because the one dining room is so large,if you are sitting at the opposite end to the kitchen,by the time you get your food it is not as hot as it should be because the poor steward has to walk "miles" to get to your table. When I was on board the air conditioning broke down in the shopping area and the temperature rose to almost 100degF!!Although I really liked both the STATENDAM and the RYNDAM, from now on I will be sailing on the gorgeous new ROTTERDAM VI.This coming cruise in 2000 will be my 5th on her. Guess I am biased...but you did ask!
