There are 6 elevators, 1 casino, 1 library, 3 outside swimming-pools, 1 whirpool, a fitness-center (massage & sauna and health spA facilities are provided too). There´s a self-service laundry, a theatre with space for 237 people and there is a children´s playroom too.
The PACIFIC SKY, which is replacing the FAIR PRINCESS (this ship has been retired after replacing P&O´s FAIRSTAR for 3 years) for P&O Holidays for cruise-service in Australian waters and the Pacific ocean, is a quite well designed, contemporary vessel and has a comfortable layout also inside. It´s a larger, well overthought version of MSC´s MELODY (formerly ATLANTIC). Only a mid-sized-ship, you´ll easily find your ways through the warmly decorated, recently refurbished lounges and isles. There are many different little places, lounges and bars and especially the Pizzeria is very popular. The showroom has been improoved during the last refurbishment so now you have a very good view from all seats. The 2 dining-rooms have pleasant decor too and are very bright. Food is of what P&O ships are known for, so expect good pasta dishes but be aware of the somewhat poor quality of other dishes. The service throughout is really friendly but sometimes could be better coordinated but I´m sure they can improove on this. The outdoor buffet could be nicer but anyway is well used by passengers. The ship will certainly provide a pleasing cruise-experience for those who want to explore Australia. A very positive thing is that there´s a lot of space everywhere and you´ll never really get the impression to be crowded. It is far better than the other vessels which were scheduled for Australia and Pacific ocean cruises from P&O before and you make a good deal since you don´t pay much more than you paid for a less good product before.my personal rating: ****In Europe, reservations can be easily done via the Cruise Travel Group or any of the representative offices of the P&O Group.Your travel agent will help you further.
Thanks for your review of the PACIFIC SKY, it will give me an idea what to expect when i cruise on her in december.
