We (my husband and I) will be on the Sensation June 4th and
plan to make good use of the topless sun deck
we were told was on this ship. Does anyone know if Carnival has rules that this area is for couples or women only, or do groups of guys hang out a lot just to look? Not that I mind guys looking -- just wondering!

I was on one Carnival ship that had a topless deck. The only topless people I saw were MEN!
They didn't allow cameras on the T.Deck.
Thank goodness! You might end up in everybody's vacation video

We were on the Fantasy earlier this month and there was a topless deck. The only rule was no cameras. We never saw anyone there.

I didn't see any topless woman either.
Thank God! A family oriented cruise line shouldn't be having that kind of thing going on. Get a balcony room if you want to burn your.... I was on the Sensation.
If you want to see some skin, go to one of the dancing shows. Men and Women dancers all wear thongs. Disgusting! We walked out.

All of Carnival ships have topless decks, secluded from the rest of the sunning areas. It is posted tops optional. If you don't want to see it, DON'T go up there. I've seen a few ships highly utilized and a few where it was a waste of space, just depends on the crowd really. Personnaly I'd like a deck where you can get "Brown, ALL the way down!", but that's highly unlikely on most cruises!

All the Carnival ships I've been on (8 of them) have had a limited number of topless as well as men and women in thongs. Not highly utilized but available for those that wish to participate. You will see a number of people (men mostly) just casually walking by to get a glimpse of a little booty.

It's a matter of choice! If the truth be known, as one comedian put it..."Some people need to re-evaluate there swimsuits vs their body....as some people should COVER themselves up and NOT be seen in a swimsuit let alone topless!

I guess I can respect those who aren't comfortable seeing exposed breasts or revealing stage costumes. But, the attitude I have a problem with is that only skinny attractive people are "worthy" of being seen at nude beaches or on topless sun decks. People come in all shapes, sizes, and colors and none have less of a right to go au naturale than another, in places where nudity is condoned. It seems the Europeans, compared to the USA, have a healthier understanding that some toplessness isn't a de facto indicator of sleazy promiscuity.

If you are not comfortable about seeing topless women sunbathing why do you go to an out of the way area on the ship that is marked for adults only, topless sunbathing? Stay away if it offends you, there are certainly many other areas of the ship you could go to.

i totally, totally agree....if you are offended by the sight of the beautiful natural body in all shapes and sizes....i suggest you just NOT go to these secluded areas and find an area to you liking...like the main pool.

p.s.....stop finding things to complain about and enjoy the cruise....smile

Whenever I went to the topless deck, there was never anybody there, so I can't tell yet if I'm offended or not.

geno-r maybe on your next cruise you'll have better luck. Geno-r have you ever been on the Grand Princess or the Voyager Of The Seas? They tower over a lot of ships.

The only thing I found disgusting about the thongs being worn in the shows was that only females were wearing them. The men in the audience were happy but us women wanted something to gawk at! The topless sunbathing deck was not something you would see unless you made an effort to climb up to it.

Hey, you nude sunbathers. Don't come crying to me if you get your tanned body on the world wide net some day.

It's wrong on a cruise ship where everyone has access. You can try to justify it all you want. Children and perverts alike walk the same decks. Keep that in mind.

Hey People! "Power of the Pen" I am sure the topless sunning area came about from alot of letters and of course the "Questionare" that everyone fills out. I personally support it and my wife and I would tan there. It is not at the main pool area most lines have them out of the main stream. Yorkie what islands are you going some have clothing optional beaches. Have fun!
Hey do some of you still get National Geographic so you can look at the native women.

If you want to see topless women, go to the tip of Miami's South Beach, where the ships come out of the harbor. One thing I see on EVERY cruise, except Alaska, the first day, hundreds of "lily white" passengers spend hours in the sun, trying to get tan in one day, and that evening you see them all bright red, looking very incomfortable in their dinner clothes. I would think, that the more you uncover, the more painful areas you will have. I learned my lesson on my first cruise. Now I spend weeks before the crise, tanning in a tanning bed and use 30 or higher sunscreen on the ship and off. Good Luck, just remember you are going to have to sit on that sunburn at dinner

K&K, we are going to Grand Caymen, Cozemel and good ole New Orleans! I've heard there may be topless in Cancun and it's just a ferry ride away. And like Mercy, I have been tanning in a bed "au natural" for a while. And for the telescope.... I'd wave!
