I need help from the great collective experiences and knowledge I've seen on these pages.

In June of 2001, my wife and I, for our Twenty-Fifth anniversity, have decide to take our children on a weeks cruise. This will require four cabins, one for us, one for the boys ages 21,17&15, one for the girls twins 19, and one for our married daughter and her husband. I have started to look now to get as much information as possible. The only thing I found was that the best prices have enough additional charges to double the original quote.

I would have gone back to my trusted TA but he sold his business and retired. The new people are a little young (I have neckties older than the boy who is now the manager). I don't like the MEGA Agencies, that take no interest in you, just the package they put together. I am looking at the Crown Dynasty out of Philadelphia or Baltimore (no air fare). But I was told that there isn't much to keep a teenagers interest on that ship.

Can someone help? I can embark from NY, Phila. or Balti. without add on airfare

Thanks

Kevin,

With Three Daughters and Three Sons, We are NOT going for the tie breaker. Besides, after six children, we figured out what caused it years ago, and put an end to it. We were slow learners.

If you have sailed with Princess recently, they might have a deal for
you. The Pacific Princess goes out
of New York or Boston this year and
they may repeat this if the cruise
proves to be really popular.
So it's an idea.....Can we come? We're ready for adoption too, but with one stipulation. We have cats... They don't go without us. LOL LOL LOL.

Congrats on your anniversary! I would like to suggest doing the Horizon or Zenith out of New York. I live just outside of Phila, in NJ and Celebrity will bus you (complimentary) to the ship(s) from either
Westhampton or Mount Laurel NJ. The
cabins on Celebrity are larger (172 sq. ft)
where the Crowns are smaller. Also, Celebrity ships are approx. twice the size and offers more options and space. I'm not
criticizing the Crown, only noting the differences. Good Luck choosing!

Bob

I would also recommend Celebrity out of NYC.
I also like the Pacific Princess, but the
cabins are so small. If Princess still allows
the connecting rooms up on boat deck to be
shared as a suite, that would be a good con-
sideration. When she was the Sea Venture
these suites were very nice.

Let us know what you decided. Good luck!

Friends,

I received an E-Mail on this topic. I guess the author, a TA, doesn't want to appear to aggressive in this forum and would be happy to help me. The essence is that over the course of this year several medium and large sized new ships will come on line, resulting in a significant surplus of cabins. This will be true in the not so new ships. The result is to expect deep discounts on these older ships to being sometime in November and December '00 or January '01 for the Spring and Summer of '01
