Does anyone else have photos or drawings of new ships? Specifically Royal Caribbean's Radiance of the Seas, the new HAL ships or new Princess ships to be built in france and japan? Post them if you do.
Oh, there is a web cam at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany where you can see the Radiance of the Seas slowly take shape. Go to http://www.meyerwerft.com and click under 'shipyard' and then 'web cam'.
However, this new ship looks rather run of the mill to me. There is nothing in it's exterior design that excites me It's design is not unlike other ships from the same yard.
I think, aesthetically, the half rear part profile of the AURORA is absolutly remarkable, especially compared to many other new ones. However, I prefer a little the front half of the ORIANA. I think they have both lot of class and elegance. I think too the angle of the Malcolm's photo is not her best one...but this is the case for almost all new cruise ships. Only a subjective opinion of course.
Rex, if you want to see very nice shots of the stern (without sponson) of AURORA, visit: http://www.aurora2000.f9.co.uk Bye.

The British cruising public have different preferences to their transatlantic counterparts. For example, they preferred more smaller and intimate public rooms to those from North America.
Oriana has a service speed of 24 knots(rather than 18-20. This allows her to sail from Southampton and get to the Mediterranean(a popular destination for the UK market) and back with the traditional British 14 to 16 day holiday period.
I assume that this is also the case with Aurora?
