There are a few area's of her hull that I have heard have had structural changes made and I would like to see for my self. Of cause I could wait until Feb 18 2001 when she is in Fremantle (My home port) but that's too far away hehe

A couple of weeks ago. It's amazing! Can't believe how big it is, as i've only been on the RVS and Vista before. When you're stood out on deck, it's amazing how far up you are, compared to those other ships!

QE2 is one big ship in deed, what's her top speed not cruising speed or her old top speed when she had her old engines but with the engines she has now.
When Olympic was fitted out from coal to Oil engines Olympic could go I think about a know faster and / or get up to her top speed much quicker. But again QE2 never ran on coal...

I believe her real top speed is 33 knots , some speed , cruising speed is 28 knots , one of the fastest ships in the world , I would even say the fastest ship in the world.

I have been on QE2 4 times and each time she look bigger She is huge, and so beautiful. Caronia - I am glad to hear you liked her, and she is a lot bigger then Seabourn Sun and Caronia (Vista) in tonnage and length.

QE2 got up to 35 knots in her official Diesel trails but the registered speed is 32. When I was on QE2's bridge in 1998 we were going 30.5 knots.

We had set off from the Panama Canal following the Regal Princess, and we sailed slow all night following the Regal, but in the morning Capt. Warwick let QE2 show off and during the day we took over Regal Princess and by the night you could not see her we were so far ahead of her. We reached Acapulco in the morning and as we were leaving that night Regal Princess arrived! You should have heard the QE2's crew cheering to Regal's as she slowly came in to Acapulco Port, probably at the same speed as QE2 was doing reversing out of the port.
