......BOY!!!!!

Ladies and Gentlemen allow me to introduce to you the newest member of our organization of fellow cruisers, a super hybrid cruiser that was conceived on Voyager of the Seas, Deck 6 in cabin 6601 on December 1st, 1999.
I give you, EVAN MATTHEW, born on September 4, 2000 at 1218am P.S.T. (As champagne bottles open.)

Evan weighs in at 8 pounds 14 ounces, and is 22 inches long (for the Europeans out there we don't use the metric system here enough as you can tell). Mom is recovering well after suffering some minor complications during the birth. She will be discharged from the hospital on Sept. 7. Baby is very healthy and strong (relieved). Ten days late is better than never.

To help pass the time in the hospital I have brought my wife numerous cruise brochures and daily TravelPage printouts of the hottest topics.

Thank you for your concern and well wishes, they really do mean alot to us and we appreciate it very much!

Jay M.
San Francisco, California

Oh I almost forgot, had it been a girl her name would have been Katarina, after Voyager's godmother (Katarina Witt). Her middle name would have been Anneliese.

For boys names I always liked Evan but thought about naming him after our waiter on Voyager, Burak from Turkey. My wife wanted Evan though.

CONGRATULATIONS - I guessed right - about the boy, that is. What a nice big baby - 8-14 is a good size.
Will always remember the birth of your son on September 4th - the date means a lot to me as I lost my husband on that date in '99. My very good wishes to all of you and may you have a wonderful, healthy life.
Yes, you must post a picture of the baby. I think we all have been on pins and needles awaiting your news ever since your last post about your wife having contractions. Being a grandmother, all kinds of things were going through my head when there were no more posts from you.
By the way if this your first? Enjoy him, little boys are wonderful!

That's great news. Those last ten days or so passed the due date must have been the longest of your lives. We were getting antsy just waiting for the news. I'm sure we'll see much more of you on this board during the upcoming sleepless nights.
Best wishes to both of you, enjoy your little boy. They grow up so fast.

Congratulations! And I love the name Evan. I thinks it great that it has a connection with the sea (Evan = Evian = Water). Lol. Send my warmest regards to your wife and the new addition.

Cabin 6601, you'll have to book that one for Evan's first cruise. He'll be a true Voyager when he steps on that ship. I'm so happy for you both.
With Kindest Regards

Congratulations to you and yours Magnum PI.

May the rain fall gently on Evans’ path, the wind be always at his back, the sun always shine upon his face and may his seas be always calm.

Wow, well done 8-14 geez my son was only 6-3.Enjoy every minute don't wish your lives away. Evan will walk, run and play soon enough. My son, Colin, just left for York university at the weekend and I am still so sad, I miss him so much. I don't care what anyone says, kids are a real treasure and joy. I don't know what I'd do without my two. Wow, I better stop or I'll be crying all over my keyboard. Have a sip of Champange for me. All our love and best wishes for a very happy future, Linda and Colin Carleton.=

This is such wonderful news! Congratulations. Boys are one of the two best kinds of children to have. It is obvious that Evan enters this world surrounded in love. That's mostly what he needs, I think. Enjoy and love him always. I know you will!

Congradulations to all three of you! I know you're thrilled. When will Evan be going on his first cruise? Our daughter took her first cruise when she was 5 months old. You can't start them too young! Have a wonderful life with your new son.
