REMBRANDT arrived at Nassau and is now laid up along with BIG RED BOAT I (Oceanic) at Freeport and BIG RED BOAT III (Transvaal Castle) whihc arrive September 17th.

SEABREEZE I remains under arrest in Halifax with crew aboard awaiting tickets home and back wages.

BIG RED BOAT II (Eugenio C>) is presently at the Navy Homeport on Staten Island and is possibly sailing September 26 as owners (Cammel Laird) look for another operator. The red Premier "P" on the funnel has been painted out.

SEAWIND CROWN was seized at Palma by her charter operators Pullmanturs after trying to "escape" to Gibraltar. She ran low on fuel and had to put in to port, where she was briefly held. She was permitted to continue in service and sailed for Barcelona.

does anybody know if any cruise line has thought of buying them??

I read on some BB that the Rembrandt is actually still owned by Holland America, that it was leased to Premier. Is this true??

Holland America Line absolutely does NOT own the Rembrandt...all ties were cut when Holland America sold the Rotterdam to Premier.

Premier cut ALL ownerships ties with HAL once they paid down the debt in full with proceeds from the $160 million junk bond float that has proved so disastrous.

There were certain covenants in place with the mortgage on the Rembrandt which HAL held a large portion, if not all of it regarding financial performance and maintenance of the ship.

As HAL was paid in full in early 1998, thay have no claims and no ties to the ship.

I saw the same posting that Chalk Dust saw. In fact, I posted a query on another site about it. Thanks to everyone for getting the true story out.

Does anyone know what will happen to the Sea Breeze? My husband and I sailed on her about 3 years ago and would love to go again if she gets put back into service.
