Does anyone know what kind of activities will be going on while Explorer is in New York? I do not suppose she will be doing any of those cruises to nowhere like Carnival did with Victory (for the public, not just travelk agents).

BenBen I've tried to get passes for the day from the Crown and Anchor and our travel agent with no luck. We've recieved passes in the past from RCI once for the LOTS,3 times from Celebrity Century,Galaxy, and the Mercury. We were booked with all the Celebrity ships so it was something special to visit the ship for the day weeks before our cruise.
I think your right about the cruise to nowhere for the public,it would be great and a little extra income for RCI,we booked one of the Victory's 2 day cruises this summer and they all sold out in days.
born2cruise,welcome aboard and I'll be looking forward to your report, were booked on the Explorer 2/3/01.
Have a great cruise.

Welcome aboard born2cruise. Explorer is now at Southampton for at least the weekend, if not longer? She if doing some 'jolly's' exclusively for travel agents.

What a ship! Sadly I had only two hours to have a look round, but it's breath-taking. The Royal Suite was bigger than my house, it has a grand piano in the lounge and a jacuzzi on the balcony!! Oh, to win the Lottery!
Even the smallest cabins are surprisingly large, more like a hotel room than a cruise cabin.
