I have recently heard RCCL has increased the price for dining in Portifino, on the voyager-class ships, from $6 per person to $20 per person! Is anyone else as irritated by this as I am? I'll be sailing on Voyager this winter, and I have no intention of paying that price for this "alternative" dining. This cruise line has thrown the whole idea of "all-inclusive" out the window!

I'll be sailing on the Explorer on 10/28 and will let you know if there has been an increase in the Portifino charge when I return. I hope this is an unfounded rumor as the price I'm paying is hefty enough. Still, I'm excited about the cruise.

Have a great time on Explorer born2cruise! I'm hoping this is just a rumor as well. But something tells me it's not. Don't get me wrong, I'm really looking forward to Voyager. It would silly for me to let this ruin my trip. I just think it's a shame because we are already paying enough for this trip to begin with.

I returned for Voyager a couple of weeks ago and yes the charge at Portifino's was $20.00 per person. I don't believe there were many takers, so maybe RCI will re-think this charge as well. On a brighter note---They were not charging for anything else on the ship ...not even skate rentals! Believe me, your bill grows fast enough all by itself.

Thanks for the info. MHP. Since you've been on Voyager recently, I have a question for you. Has the food,in general, been improved on at all? I had heard that RCCL had received numerous complaints and were attempting resolve the issue.

Emgrace..The food was fantastic. My waistline grew a bit. Wonderful ship, you have nothing to worry about. In fact you may never go back to a smaller ship again. The only disapointment I had was the ship churned up so much sand at Labadee you couldn't snorkel all day.

Great to hear MHP! I'm sure we'll have a great time. This is my 2nd cruise,(1st for my husband). So Voyager should be a real experience for us! I'll be sure to give a full report when I get back! I'm sorry to hear about Labadee though. We were planning to snorkel on the island. may reconsider it.
