We are considering a February 2001 cruise on RCCL's Enchantment of the Seas, and I was wondering if there is a way that we can find out who the cruise director will be when we sail? Do cruise directors stay aboard their ship for a designated period of time and then move on to another ship, or is it different for every cruise line and every cruise ship? Just wondering....

Don't know about RCCL, but on HAL they are on for a designated period, then go on vacation. They may go to another ship or come back to the one they left. You may be able to call the Human Resources Dept. of the cruise line and they may possibly be able to tell you.

You should be able to call the direct number to RCI in Miami(305-539-6000) and ask to speak with the Marine Human Resources or the Entertainment dpt to get the info. Yes, the cruise directors do stay on for a length of time, although I'm not sure how much.

We had a gentleman named Ken Rush on Enchantment. We ran into him again on Voyager however and he said he would be moving on to Explorer so we will probably see him once again in December. Its a good thing we liked him!! The only way to be sure is to call like Angie said. They rotate around a bit.

Anyone know where Chris Jurassas has gone to? Was CD on the Veendam, featured on HAL's Veendam video, left the company.

We had Ken Rush on the Voyager, too. He WAS great. That's basically what started this question because I was reading reviews of the Enchantment and heard alot of complaints about the cruise director. I really think that the cruise director makes a big difference...we have always had really, really great ones except for once on the Dawn Princess. It made a difference, surprisingly!
