I think it's time for that old chestnut 'Handsome or Ugly'?

I don't think that she is as nice looking as Mercury or Galaxy - but I would not mind cruising her.

Comments please?

Sorry - UGLY, UGLY, UGLY. No style whatsoever.
There is a great picture of the Amsterdam on another site, but I can't mention the name of it. If you want to see it let me know and I will e-mail you the website. Also, lots of interior shots.
There is no comparison between this ship and the Amsterdam. It looks like a ship. This looks like a box - stern looks terrible. My opinion!
11/11/00 - Oh, thank goodness - for a while I thought I was the only one who thought it was a very ugly ship!

I'll let you know next week. I'm going to New York next Friday to spend the day on the ship.
I kind of like her but I really want to see what she looks like on the inside.

harborman are you a travel agent? I've tried to get passes as a Captain Club member as I have in the past to tour their last 3 new builds but was informed by Celebrity/RCI that there are no tours.Any info would be appreciated.

Hi..we spent a whole day in Santorini with her a couple of weeks ago, so had a really good opportunity to see her from all angles...the result? She's UGLY.
The paint scheme on the hull is really quite wierd, the gold line varies in width and goes up and down for no reason,as does the white supposedly waterline. The Black of the hull fore and aft of the boats is way too high and in fact is the wrong colour anyway.
The Top deck is a mess topped off with 3 red pipes and other bits.
The best thing they could do is paint the hull white and put a proper waterline on it with a say dark blue boottopping.
That might help to make it a reasonable looking floating Hyatt.

I don't like her shape at all, but there are uglier ship sailing or under construction (the Carnival Spirit is an example).

Hmmm...she's certainly no oil painting. To be honest she reminds me of a Lego set, but I think her overall shape is alright - nothing great - but the paint job is absolutely garish. Far to in your face for the Celebrity crowd.

Out of interest, what ship is that ship is that she is beside in the bottom picture? I would have said Sunbird, but I don't think it is.

Paddy.

I don't like the looks much at all. But at this point, I am going through such a serious case of wanting to be cruising again that I think she would beautiful to me if I were boarding her for a cruise.

I sail on the Millenium in the Mediterranean Sea from October 13 to 23.
My wife and i are very satisfied on the ship.
Very good food, good service, a lot of public rooms, three-deck-high show-room with good productions, inside i found the ship not ugly.

Outside ALL NEW SHIPS are ugly, if you remember the old Liners.

Have you been drinking Paddy? However, I think I know what you are trying to say! I think that the other ship is NCL's Norwegian Dream (or her sister)? Now the 'Dream' is a pretty big ship, but compared to the big 'M' she looks modest!

Malcolm--the NCL ship may indeed look modest by comparison but at least she looks like a SHIP! The Millie is truly ugly and overdone at least from the outside; I'm not even tempted to look within.

She is NOT ugly but different. When I first saw the HORIZON I thought I could get never used to her. She wasn´t ugly but she was completely different than other ships and today she is one of my favorite new ships.
It was the same with the CENTURY-class ships. When I saw the CENTURY the first time, I thought she is much too big for the kind of design she has. Now, compared to the many other ships around of this size, she is a real beauty.
The MILLENNIUM is the same. If you compare her in a few years with other new ships coming out, she´ll be nice as well.
Personally, I think the MILLENNIUM is no more a Celebrity ship like the ZENITH for example. She is too much "Americanisized" if I can say it like this. They should have kept their European style and some Greek ambiance.
Anyway, from inside, she is state-of-the-art and a fantastic ship. You can cruise on her without any doubts about comfort and style.

The ship next to the MILLENNIUM shown on the picture, is NOT the NORWEGIAN DREAM but the ROYAL PRINCESS !

Yes I was also going to say Royal Princess for the ship next to the big Millennium. WOW that BigM is TALL!! Like a skyscrapper.

Ryndam, What's wrong with the Carnival Spirit? I think she's very creative in her design. The funnel is among the most unique features we've seen in a while.

I never judge a book by its cover or a ship
by its photo. Two months eight days until
we see in person
Does anyone know if the Infinity and Summit,
will have the same paint job ?
