What do you think about the flagship of MSC cruises? This ship has an excellent reputation in Italy and it's alwais full of people(it directly compete with the giant Costa Victoria,a ship that I don't like).Was the Melody better when opereted by Premier and Home Lines or now?

I was on the Melody in 1997 starting in Genova 27th of December and go to Fort Lauderdale 14th of January 1998.

The ship was not good.

Very high noise, vibrations in the rear, especially on the lower decks, no good service, food by Zerbone Catering.

I found it more bad than the Monterey in 1996 from Genova to Rio.

Will never cruise again with MSC!

Better was in 1995 the Costa Allegra in the Baltic.

I totally agree with you.The Costa Allegra offers excellent cruises at a fair price.I expecially enjoied the cruse to Syria and Lebanoon in 1997.MSC offers good value for cruising but not a premium product.

While I prefer the ambiance of MSC-ships, I don´t really like the MELODY from her outside design. Anyway, she´s not bad from inside. She was a good ship with Home Lines while with Premier in my eyes she was not as good as she is now with MSC. Probably I would, in this case, prefer cruising on the COSTA MARINA too.
