(Mind you the Mercury's flush was so powerful that it made my ears pop and the cabin door slam. If everybody, in every cabin flushed simultaneously, I'm sure that we would all have been sucked into a parallel universe?)
I know it's a gross story sorry.
we use to play a game on the Song of America, where we would put a glob of toilet paper with a real long tail that was strung out about 50 feet down the hall, and then flushed.....it was so funny to see that toilet paper squiggle down the hall and into the toilet.

So Barry, if that is not 'gross' what is?
quote:Originally posted by Barryboat:.. Because of her huge size, her innerds were pulled out a bit.
OUCH!!!! Poor woman!!! If it was a man than it would be a bit more dangerous... go on a cruise and get an free vasectomy!!!
P.S. 100 posts!!! Now I'm only 1800 away from Malcolm...

A lot of passengers were flushing weird stuff in the vacuum system.
One day he listed some things they crew found that day which included Underwear, T-bone steak, Canvas Holland America Line tote bag (For your shopping pleasure), glasses and a wallet.
The day that everything was OK again this is what the Captain and the Cruisedirector said on the PA.
CD: Knock KnockCaptain: Who's there ?CD: The toilet repairman.Captain: Toilet repairman who ?CD: The Toilet repairman of the RotterdamCaptain: Go home Toilet repairman of the Rotterdam, we don't need you anymore.
Most passengers really enjoyed this captain.

What was her reply " I don't remember eating that"?
(Look who's being gross now! Oh dear I seem to have started a 'toilet humour' thread)
Sounds like the flush we had on the Triumph. Better not still be on the bowl when you set that one off, or you'll be Great White fodder.

Sympatico, the panties probably did not belong to the woman in the cabin, but were in fact sucked through from the 'Parallel Universe' that I was telling you about! See it is true!
Although we hear lots of talk on this forum about ship propulsion and hull design, it is the area of sewage disposal that is by far the most interesting technical area.
Many cruisers are not aware that modern cruise ships actually employ 'Cosmic Black Hole' technology to power their waste disposal systems. After all, how else could you possibly power more than a 1000 'Johns' simultaneously, first thing every morning?
(The truth is out there).

Bernard,
1) Underwear - this is obviously a big thing on American cruise ship. Disposable underwear never really caught on in the UK?
2) T-bone Steak - what is odd about that? Over the years I've lost a number of meals down the John.
3) Canvas Bag for shopping pleasure - is this like 'consumerism bulimia'? You buy lots of goods, then flush them away out of shame?
4)What no sets of False Teeth? (Often found along with the T-bone)

And everyone in the corridor and three cabins either side of you knows that you've, ahem, "been".

It's a priviledge

Hmmm Salt Water - I dont think anyone is going to try and find out for you.

I will not be trying to find out either.
It won't be long now until you leave for your HAL Christmas Cruise, I bet your glad you are getting away from all that bad weather. It seems like a mass exodus from Canada.
Have a wonderful time when you are away....
CheersM
If you are South of the Equator (Think Rio De Janeiro, Johannesburg, or Sydney), the Toilet will flush clockwise. :0
Check which way it flows on a cruise ship. Any difference?
