Last Saturday I disembarked from EXPLORER OF THE SEAS in Miami at the end of
a great 7-day Eastern Caribbean cruise. Of course I brought my camera along
on board, and my first selection of photos is now online for those of you
interested at http://psp.club.tip.nl

I will try to put a full cruise review online over Christmas, which will
feature many more photos. For the time being, I hope you will enjoy the 20
or so pictures that I have put online today.

All the best from Holland!
Bart

Bart Beautiful pictures.I see RCI finally started using their anchorless system.Back in 97 it was reported by RCI that in Labadee they would be using a system that wouldn't damage the coral,we were there in 97 on the Grandeur and last year on the Voyager and both times had anchors dropped. We'll see in Feb. on the Explorer if their still using it.
These are the first pictures of the dining room I have seen,it looks great. The Century's was my favorite until the Voyagers last year,I'm looking forward to Explorer's now.Thank for the pictures and looking forward to your review.
Have a nice holiday.

Great stuff Bart! You pictures and review of the 'Black Watch' brought back memories of my Baltic trip in August 2000.

A 'Must See' web site. Keep up the good work

Very nice pictures, Bart. Wish I had the talent for taking even one pix that turned out!
I know DeBoer is a common Dutch name, but are you by any chance related to Jake & Maika De Boer in Toronto - they used to do a wonderful Travel show on one of our TV networks - haven't seen them for a while. Everyone has to aks a stupid questions, don't they folks?
Actually we also have a big DeBoer's furniture store in TO.

Sympatico,

Thanks to you and all the others for the nice words. De Boer is indeed about the most common Dutch name you can think of - it translates to "the farmer", so I guess one of my ancestors indeed was doing something useful for a living! :-))

I am familiar with Jake de Boer's travel show - it was even broadcasted here in Holland many years ago. Sorry to say I am not related to either him or the furniture store! hehe...

Right now I'm working on the Explorer review, so stay tuned - I hope to have the whole story online by Christmas.

All the best from sunny and cool Holland
Bart

Hello Bart

Nice to see you posting here, I have followed your work now for a few years, including the Transatlantic you took with friends on RCI's Enchantment (I think), so I am looking forward to reading your Explorer review as you must be one of the most comprehensive reviewers around and with great pictures to boot.

I remember waiting with great patience to go on Vision of the Seas about six weeks after its launch and was delighted to find all your fine photographs, in fact I used one for my background on the desk top at work for ages.

So Welcome Aboard
Cheers
Mary

Great web site! We (my daughters & I) are on the May 5th sailing. We're anxiously waiting for your review. By the way, do you have any pictures of the staterooms that you can share?

Hi Mary; Hi Darlene,

Mary, thanks for the nice words. Hope all is well in beautiful Stirlingshire (not covered in snow I hope?). My transatlantic crossing on Enchantment was one of my most memorable cruises so far. We were on board for 14 nights and encountered some really rough weather (the Pool Deck was covered in snow by the time we reached Iceland!). I am still planning to re-publish my Cruise Review of that particular voyage, as it has long disappeared from the web.

After such an exciting cruise, the Maiden Voyage of Vision of the Seas from Southampton to Barcelona in May, 1998 was a little on the boring side...

Darlene, I have just one stateroom picture -ours- and I'm afraid it's not very good. So alas, next time better. Be sure to check out my home page over the weekend. I hope to have the Explorer review online by then.

Finally! :-))

Thanks for the comments.

All the best from Holland
Bart

Yes Stirlingshire is covered in snow in fact I had to drive home in a blizzard the other night, I hope it goes off soon as we have a long drive down to Southampton on the 3rd January, 2001.

Cheers
Mary
