I am NOT a Happy Camper! I just found out that they more than doubled the price for the Olympic restaurant on the Millennium , to $25. per person! Now I am not cheap, but I don't like paying that much for dinner on a cruise ship! It just goes against the whole spirit of free food on cruise ships! We will be on the Jan. 21 sailing and now I am not sure we will try out the Olympic after all. I think the food might stick in my throat! How does everyone else feel about it?

It seems a bit high.Did they upgrade the menu (lobsters, king crab legs)meats I thought were good to excellent quality already ? I've read the Grand Princess just raised their prices also. $20.
Have a great cruise anyway.

Hmmm..now we know how Celebrity will pay for those antique panels!

If people don't pay the fee, Celebrity will soon drop it!

Mercy,
Don't like it at all.
Someone wrote on this site that cruise lines are starting a class system like the old liners had. Looks like this is the first step.

boy for 25 bucks i would sure spend at least 4 hours spending time with a friend or new company and enjoy the atmosphere and take my time with the meal and spirits and reminiss (sp.) about what life would have been like taking a voyage aboard the "olympic" or better yet the last night aboard the "titanic" with the type of entree's the 1st class would have enjoyed....i'm sure 4 drinks would be close to the same price in on the liner....well worth it, i think......don't forget....your eating inside a room meant for the maritime museum....enjoy.....

Hi Mercy
Never having been dissatisfied with menu selections in the main dining room on any HAL ship, we've not tried 'alternative dining'.

We did have opportunity to compare menus on the QE2 - Grill Room - Caronia and Mauritania - when it came right down to the nitty-gritty, there was little difference. If a waiter hovering at your elbow, lobster, quail etc. etc. on demand and something flambé every night is what you want then a $25.00 add-on seems reasonable.

Happy cruisin'

The ultimate irony is that both the Olympic and the Titanic had extra-tariff restaurants. Maybe there's something about that Olympic wood that gave Celebrity the idea...

You can visit the Olympic restaurant out of eating times for nothing.

Also you can take video tapes/Pictures.

It is NOT the same, to eat in this restaurant on the Millenium, than on the Olympic/Titanic.

On my cruise in October in the Mediterranean
i visit the restaurant, but do not eat there.

The charge was 10 Dollars.

The drinks are extremely high in prices and
the food come from the same kitchen than
the food in the restaurant.

The Millenium has one main kitchen and
some satellites for finishing.

I will not pay extra money for the food,
not 10 dollars, not 25 and not one dollar!

Beware of beginning those things.

Next cruise, the whirl-pools cost extra...

...and so on...

If people stopped going, they might do something about it. Look what happened on VOTS with Johnny Rockets!

..Jonny Rockets was originally free to use on 'Voyager'then they introduced a charge - then dropped the charge. This was becuase of an outcry from the passengers (or a lack of bums on seats?)

Remember, it was me who did the loudest complaining about Johnny Rockets?
And it is NOT the same as dining in the original vessel "Olympic".
Hi Green.. I don't like the waiter hovering
