Happy New Year to everyone!I'm just returned from the Costa Atlantica:the ship is magnificente with large cabins fully equipped, attentive and warm service, good shows and entrateinments and excellent cuisine with many typical italian dishes and theme buffets. The Atlantica is a bit colorfull for "cruising italian style"but it offers ample spaces particularly for fitness devotes. This ship has put Costa in the premium cruise market(far better than the acclaimed Costa Victoria).About the Costa fleet I think that they should sell the old Riviera and replace it with the Tropicale and rearrange the Classica & Marina(both ships aren't of the same standards of their fleetmates).

Hey you must have been in Grand Cayman on Dec. 27 ? We were on the Imagination right next to you! Wish I knew you'd be there we could have met on the pier. Your ship certaintly has a friendly staff, my daughter made friends with one of the kid counslers on your ship and took a picture with her. The line for your ship was much shorter too LOL. Glad you had a good cruise, was it a little rocky on the way back to Florida?

We did enjoy our cruise thanks, now I have to check my pictures when I get them developed to see which Costa ship it was in Grand Cayman with us. God my memory isn't what it used to be, I can remember things from 10 years ago but not from 10 mins. ago

[Replies to your posted msg. seems to indicate the Atlantica DID NOT sail in the Med. I was hoping that you did, want info about Isarel. Specifically, what port(s) are being substituted since its still unsafe to visit Jerusalem.

I agree that the Costa Riviera should be scrapped. No morre Men, Women, or Children (Me included) should have to have the experience akin to being inside an overflowing sewer in Milan, Italy. The experience of the Costa Riviera.

Read "Costa Muniny" for more information.

"Muniny" should of course read "Mutiny"!

Jesse C, there are probably passengers that have enjoyed a cruise on Costa Riviera, before the recent problems. Although it is not acceptable, even some newer ships have experienced sewage problems, in the past. She needs fixing not scrapping!

I've checked the only passenger review on this web site. I must admit that it does not make very good reading!

I agree with you Malcolm, she need only a better maintenance from the owner, but I really don't think she must be scrapped..
Some people looks for brand new ships only, but so many still prefer olders one.
Hopefully we still can choice in what kind of ship to cruising...this is freedom!

I am so glad to hear your report "Italian Cruiser" as I have been waiting to hear from someone who had been on the ship. We are booked to go in March. What did you find interesting to do in Jamaica? also Cozemel?
Will there be a review of the ship posted soon?

To Chargap:Costa offers a wide range of excursion at each port of call but before to reserve one of them check carefully. The most interesting ones for the Mexico depart from Playa del Carmen.I liked the Chichen Itza tour but if you love the archeology also Tulum and Xela lagoon and particularly Coba'are very interesting. For Cozumel don't reserve any excursion(they are all disappointing)But explore the isle yourself:there are nice beaches, excellent restaurants(true mexican delicious cuisine) and many shops. In Ocho Rios the most interesting excursion is the rafting on the Martha Brae river. If you prefer the Dunn's river falls avoid the tours those include Prospect Plantation and Brimmmer hall(Cobaya gardens are far far better).I have tried toi submit a full review of the Costa Atlantica but I have had some problems.I'll try again later. The ship is with no doubt the best in the Costa fleet even if it isn't"italian Style".
