I'll be on the QE2 for two weeks in March from Hongkong/Vungtau Vietnam/Singapore/Bangkok/Phuket. I also just got a mini video camera.
Other than the usual video shots of the ship and its decks, public rooms, etc., does anyone have any suggestion for unusual, out of the ordinary video shots in, on, around a cruise ship and its activities? I don't mean the peeping tom, hidden cam variety, though on the QE2's world cruise, given the average pax age, I doubt if such shots have any real or commercial interest anyway.

Though I might not be allowed to film these, what would normally be the most tense moment on the bridge (other than an unexpected incident or storm), the crew at rest or relaxation, dealing with pax problems, kitchen or engine room activity, etc.

Try getting a close up of the ships baker when he realises some one has used salt instead of sugar in the fruit pies and dinner is being served

Well if you are heading through the Mallacca straight there is a chance of getting attacked by pirates. If you could film a modern pirate attack on the QE2 on the high seas that would be pretty spectacular.

Try getting a shot from the top of the QE2 smoke stack....I did....makes a cool and unique picture.

Everyone takes pictures/video of the ship and the ports of call, however don't forget to take pictures of the crew and passengers. Candid ones are best rather than poses.
