My wife and I are taking our first cruise this summer. We are considering booking the Category 2 mini-suite at the stern of the Century on the Penthouse Deck. Does anybody know anything about these cabins? Are they very noisy or prone to vibration when the ship is at sea? Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

Congratulations, you have choosen a great ship! The cabins at the stern generally vibrate a bit at sea even in good weather conditions. On the Century the minisuites on the Penthouse deck are equipped with a very large private balcony but they suffer for the rumours from the after pool and from the teen's facilities. If you are looking for a relaxing cruise choose another accomodation.Have an excellent cruise!

Great ship. One of my favorites. We went from Genoa to Amsterdam two years ago. Smooth as silk. Did have a little storm off the coast of Spain, but the ship went through it with no problems.

We were in an outside mid ship and slept like a log.

have fun

I can't speak for that particular cabin, but can tell you that the ship is terrific. The service was wonderful, the food great, and the ship in terrific shape. I was amazed at how clean the entire ship was. We're planning a second cruise for late 2001, and are seriously thinking of returning to the Century.

We've sailed on the Century twice, and it is a wonderful ship. We were in a Category 1 suite on the Penthouse deck and had no noise problems whatsoever. These rooms are identical to the Sky Suites (full butler service, etc.) except the verdanda is; however, they are completely private where in the Sky Suites they are not.

If you do go to the site above to read the "review",keep in mind that it is now almost 5 years old. I have been on the Century twice since then and saw none of the problems referenced on that site. The Century is a fine ship with incredible service.

A more balanced opinion,
Paul
