I Wonder, being a ‘new kid on the block’, if I can start a thread going on this very
good site.

How about a personal score & two line rating for any cruises you lot have been on?
To start things off, here’s my list, I hope others will join in!

Cruise #1............ TOPAZ - Sept.’98 Score=8/10
Fantastic Value, Excellent Service, Good Food (Especially at dinner)
Very crowded, Quite noisy.

Cruise #2......... - ISLAND BREEZE - Feb.2000 Score 9/10
Lovely Ship, Great atmosphere, Excellent service, Great food always
Hard to fault, The only thing that was not so good was the weather!

Cruise #3........... - OCEAN MAJESTY - Oct’2000 Score 3/10
Well, the ports of call were very good! (eastern med.) Good job, we escaped
whenever we could!
Lousy service, cold food, Limited entertainment, Everybody in bed by 11:00pm!

Cruise #4................. - MISTRAL - May 2001
Watch This Space!!!

Have 'cruised' and 'crossed' frequently on HAL ships - with the exception of Maasdam and Veendam, at least twice on each ship -
Maasdam, Niew Amsterdam, Noordam,
Rotterdam V, Rotterdam V1, Ryndam, Statendam, Veendam and Westerdam (before and after stretching).
Rating - all are excellent.

QE2 'crossing' - only once and never again.
Rating - she's over-priced and over-rated.

MISTRAL - May 2001- will be interested in your report/review.

Happy cruisin'

Caribe I (1984 - stowaway)
Azure Seas (1986 first paid for cruise)
QE2 (1987 Southampton - NY Passenger)
Nordic Prince (June 1989 member of the crew)
Song of America (1989 member of the crew)
Norway (1990 Passenger)
mv Empress (1991 ACD & Cruise Director)
Pacific Star (1991 Cruise Director)
Zenith (1992 Entertainment Host)
QE2 (1992 Stage Manager)
Jubilee (1997 Passenger)
Rembrandt (1998 Passenger)
SeaBreeze (1999 Passenger)

I worked on the cruise ships for about 2 years total....about 550 days.

In that time, I would also visit every ship I could get on while my ship was in port. My favorite was the Norway. Visited the Tropicale for lunch, nearly every week for a year while I was in college. Visited the QE2 many times, Royal Princess, Island Princess, Viking Serenade, Westerdam, All the Carnival ships, all the Royal Caribbean ships, Crystal Harmony.... this would be a long thread if I listed every ship I visited.

Thanks everybody for all your interesting replies - But the original idea was to get from everyone an actual rating for each of their cruises (which only a few have done) rather than just a simple list of ships! Please everybody give scores , just think how helpful it would be if you were about to cruise on a ship that someone else has rated

THANKS TO THOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR AN EXCELLENT FORUM!!!!!!

I'm sure no one is exagerating....but, I specifically asked not too long ago about the Costa Allegra and could not get a response or rating. Now, replies indicate that at least one person cruised her in 1998.

Curious: 24+ cruises! Do you people WORK....
...or are you trust fund babies?
