Sorry can't answer you there, but I doubt it. It would be like using it in a mall, where there are banned, at least in our city.
If you wanted to use it off the ship, on one of the islands, the problem is that there are so many people around that you would be constantly dodging them. Also the roads are bumpy and filled with cars - there rarely are sidewalks and if there are they are also filled with passengers from the cruise ship.

When I was on the ROTTERDAM in August last year on the Baltics/St.Petersburg cruise, there were some kids running wild with their scooters in the hallways. After almost causing a serious accident by colliding with an elderly passenger exiting her cabin, these scooters VANISHED!!
My friends and I had tried in vain to stop these dangerous antics for days and had complained to the parents(whose attitude left a lot to be desired!) finally going to Security.
To be honest,I don't know how the parents,in all conscience, could allow their kids to take the scooters on board...in fact, how the scooters got past boarding security beats me all to hell!

So I am sorry,Dan but the answer,as far as I am concerned,is a definite NO!

Terri

SCOOTRRS - ON A HAL SHIP!!!!!!! OR ANY SHIP FOR THAT MATTER.

You have more tolerence that I, Terri - My first complaint would have been to the Master of the ship, with a copy of the letter to Security. Bad enough that we have to dodge bikes and skateboards on our sidewalks - Scooters now!!!

Think you got that backwards - such inconsiderate people don't dodge people - people are obliged to dodge them - smartish like, if you don't want to be mowed down!

If passengers under 15 years of age were banned from cruise ships,I doubt there would be a scooter problem.
So there.

Dan, I do hope not!

It would probably damage to carpets, paint work and decks, that's besides the risk of damaging and/or anoying the other passengers! You might even scoot yourself over the side!

A ship is not the place for a scooter!

I would say the only place they should be on a cruise ship would be the roller blading track on a couple of the newer ships of RCCL. You might go to WWW.RCCL.COM and pose the question to them. (or ask you TA to call them)
