Thanks a lot Malcolm found out some useful information which has made us feel better, this will be our first cruise!

I do not know if you will have the answer to this but my wife wants to know if there are any washing facilities, for clothes!, and how much it is?, on the Sundream.

Hi Paul, first time cruisers particularly seem to enjoy Airtours value for money aopproach. I've not cruised on Sundream, but I can tell you this:

Some ships have a self service launderette, some don't and Sundream does not. However I think most ships do have a laundry service. I do not know the cost, but most prices on cruise ships are a little over the top, like a Hotel! Maybe fellow CruiseTalkers (Paddy) can help?

If you want to save money take a big case! Mind you the cabin storage space can be a little limited on some older ships?

What itinerary are you looking at? Feel free to ask the 'classic' questions about 'What to wear' and 'seasickness'?

P.S. In the future check out the Teletext Cruise Offers, you rarely need to pay the full brochure price! Have a look at Fred.Olsen's Black Watch, and the P&O ships too.

I have been on her sister, Carousel, as well as Seawing and the Carousel was truly a lovely ship. Lovely people. Lovely food. Great experience. Regarding laundry, there is a service in which you put the clothes you want cleaned in a bag in your cabin. I will have a wee hunt to see if I can find the price list, but I think it was not something you want to use regularly!!!

My wife and i have been on the Sundream, we did it two years in a row doing the Med cruise.While the ship does not compare as far as luxury with the bigger and newer vessels i can only say the ship was functional and nevertheless we enjoyed it.
Since our main purpose was the shore trips,the ship was secondary.Having said that
the food and entertainment were very good.
One tip, since the monetary system on the ship is the British pound and travelling through Italy, Spain, and France, one has to change monies each time.I suggest using a credit card since the ship charged a fee for selling the appropriate currency and another fee for buying which made the transactions expensive.

Paul, if you are not fly cruising, there will not be a limit to the baggage you can take aboard - as long as it fits into your cabin.
