Has anyone been on this trip over the holidays. We are going this year and my daughter is very worried that there won't be any Christmas crackers at the Christmas meal. Does anyone know or should we take our own?

Hi there everybody, I have moved down south again and can now use the net for a while.

MoJo, an interesting question. I can't answer your query specifically about Christmas crackers on P&O.

I normally cruise at that time of year. I always take my own Christmas crackers along with me.
It is also very important to be seated at a table for no more than eight. Where I come from, they are packaged with no more than eight to a box.

We sailed aboard Arcadia last Xmas and New Year(2000-2001) and an excellent time we had as well. The ship is decked out with plenty of decorations and the mood is very festive. At the Xmas meal there were crackers at the table and would hope for your sake they continue this for this year. How old is your daughter.Whilst we were on board there was a large contingent of children. If my memory serves me right I think the number was approx.180.Of course this will be the last time children can sail at Xmas as next year in april she goes over to adults only cruising.Any other qustions dont hesitate to ask.

Hello Mo-Jo
Christmas at sea on a British ship and no crackers????? Highly unlikely.
Christmas in England is the BIG holiday - in Scotland, its New Year - Dec.31 - Hogmanay!

We've done several Christmas/New year cruises and many people bring their own crackers and cabin decorations on board - we took our miniature tree - with lights etc. etc. Check about crackers when you board and if the're not supplied, you've got your own.

On HAL ships, Santa comes to call.

Have a Very Merry Christmas!!

Happy Cruisin'

If you are thinking about taking Christmas Crackers with you, check first with the airline. They are classed as explosives and may be taken off you before you fly. I think I saw this on the airport programme on TV.
Have a great holiday
