Looking for anyone cruising this new ship with Western Caribbean Itinery this fall. I would like to get some first hand experience and tips once someone has actaully cruised the same ship and itinerary. It is new with the new dining style and would like to know in advance what to expect. We sail the end of December, 2001. Thanks

Hey,
Well I might be going on the ship, but not on a Caribbean Cruise. We might be going on her in july 2002 on a med. cruise! Can't wait!

We're going on the maiden voyage.......less than two weeks to go! Shall post a review once we return in late October. I hope we are impressed as it's our first cruise with NCL - their other ships don't seem to win too many points!

Hi Jenna:

When are you going on the Sun Cruise? We are also going at the end of December on the New Year's cruise. Maybe we can update each other on what we have heard so far.

Hey Jean,

We also will be on the New Year's Cruise - leaving Dec. 29 from Miami. Please do share any info as will I. I find I always have so much to share with someone AFTER I've done a cruise so I was hoping to find someone that was cruising it BEFORE us. Keep me posted. Thanks

Jenna

Hi Jenna-

Sorry it has taken me so long to return to you. I have been busy for a couple of weeks. We are really looking forward to the cruise. I hope there are a lot of younger fun couples on this. My husband and I are looking forward to a great New Year's. We are also out of Miami - same dates as you. Here is what I have heard so far.
There is a surcharge for the nicer restaurants of $10 per person per night. My travel agent recommended that we make a reservation for New Year's as soon as we get on. Tipping is automatcially $10 per person per day. This is added to the tab. You can change that. The ship is already sold out. They are still deciding on New Year's festivities, however formal attire is optional. My husband and I will probably dress up.
The couple of reviews I read from Germany is that they are really impressed with the ship. Who knows, maybe we will run into each other??! We are looking for some fun couples on this ship!

We also would like to dine with other people, I heard that with the free-style dining that is a possibility still. It would be nice to find some fun couples.

Where are flying to Miami from? We are leaving from Detroit. Talk to you later...

Jean

Hi Jean,

We too are flying from Detroit - Northwest, but on the 26th! Small world. We are spending a few days in Ft. Lauderdale first. We are definitely a fun couple, however, we are travelling with our two children. We plan to have them participate a lot in the childrens programs. I also have to look into something for them for New Year's Eve, hopefully they have something especially for the kids so the adults can have some fun too. I'm curious how the ship made out with the maiden voyage due to the tradegy so many had to experience. Did it sail I wonder? I plan to contact NCL soon for some more details - I'll fill you in. Thanks for your info. I want to try to avoid waiting in lines when we get on the ship to make reservations - there must be away around this - I'll let you know - bye for now

Jenna
