Have just heard that Song of Flower is to be mothballed next year. Anyone of a press release? or Cruise Week?

Jekyll--

Have you checked the Radisson web site to see what the Song's schedule is listed as there? Doing so might answer your question.

Actually I've already done so, but I don't have a spoon handy at the moment.

Have checked out the website and they say every thing is operating as usual. But when I checked the Cruise Calender she had no sailings listed between Oct 2001 and May 2002 (when she is usually in Asia).

Anyone else know anything?

SteveL - what did you mean about the spoon?

Jekyll--

Since no cruises were listed on the calendar from October through May, it seemed an obvious inference (at least to me), that it wasn't going to be cruising from October through May. A call to Radisson confirmed this. Reason is obvious, same as for Silver Wind--expected drop in tourism to remoter parts of world.

I guess you caught me in a grumpier mood than usual. I sometimes get tired of spoon-feeding people information on these boards that they ought to be perfectly capable of finding out for themselves. Usually I don't let the irritation out into the open. Guess I'm Hyde. Sorry.

Run for your lives; it's a pedantically grumpy bear.

It's about time someone used the word "pedantically" on this web site. Well done, Nathan.

Nathan was just quoting the signature-phrase I use on another board.

A useless trivia moment:

A year or two ago CruiseTalkers voted 'Song of Flower' the worst named cruise ship!

I personally like the name, but have no idea what it means?

Anyone?

I do think Song of Flower is the worst name out there. Steve is right -- I was quoting him, and I take no credit for using the phrase.

SteveL:
NO problem...actually I didn't notice the GAP between May and Oct for S of F the first time I went to the site as the Press Release in News says that everything is operating as normal so I never consciously looked for the GAP.

After I read your post, I revisited the site as it was obvious I missed something and saw it. THANKS!

I agree w/ you about the spoon. NOw I know what you meant. Not usually a botom feeder - was just asing as I have yet to see a Press Release or anything else to confirm the rumour.

PS> San Fran is one of my favourite cities to visit in the US. :-)
