I have finally [with much nagging] finished my review of our trip on Braemar at the end of August. Plenty of photos too of the Norwegian Fjords. Click here to view.

Great stuff PamM! Well done.

Even those CruiseTalkers that are not Fred.Olsen fans, should have a look at your site.

Send the URL to Fred.Olsen's maketing department, you might get a free cruise? Well, maybe an upgrade.

I do know that the Olsen Marketing Manager based at Ipswich (UK) has visited our CruiseTalk site.

Pam,
Wonderful review and pics, thanks for sharing. The Norwegian fjords really are beautiful. To those who have never cruised there and always head for the Med, you must go and experience the wonderful scenery.

The Fjords are top of my list to visit and Pam's web site has helped to convince me.

Lets not forget that the Baltic capitals are also fascinating. In fact Pam and I both visited them on the same cruise, yet did not know each other. It's a small world!

Phil, are cruise ships using the port of Liverpool again these days?

Many thanks for all your kind comments. The Fjords are indeed beautiful. It's a number of years since I last went that way and my memory of the beauty was lacking. Photos do not do them justice.

Go Malcolm, maybe do the Norwegian Coastal Voyage with a stay in Bergen, to do the day trips on the smaller vessels deep into the fjords? Something different.

I would like to be able to compare with Alaska..maybe one day. Anyone visited both and can say which is best? I suspect it's a bit too touristy in the Alaskan ports though. The Norwegian villages are tiny and only ever have one ship a day. I can't imagine what it must be like with thousands pouring into a small town for the day. I have not been up to the North Cape/Spitzbergen either which is on the list for future years.

I would never be so lucky. You would be amazed at some of the emails I get from my BW review. People asking for brochures, pricing, all sorts of stuff. I just politely tell them I'm not FO and send them to the proper site.

I got one yesterday from Hawaii, saying that he was willing to represent 'you guys' selling cruises, then went on to ask what cruiselines? Odd when it was addressed to Fred. Olsen. Then went on to ask what commission they paid Maybe a wind up?..don't know, I could ignore or send it on.

The one who writes the letters? I did put the website chappie onto Bart's site not so long ago and he thought it was wonderful, well it is. But they still haven't got their own website in order, gives all 3 ships details and then goes on to talk about 'both' ships <sigh>. Will they ever get it up straight?

Malcolm,
Yes Baltic portsalso a must see, especially as Tallinn is open.I'm told that one is a real throw back in time.
We have had just 3 cruiseships in, this year,to my knowledge ; R Seven, Berlin & the
small Clipper Adventurer. The first 2 diverted because of unrest in Belfast. A real pity because this city has so much to offer, but the powers to be do absolutely nothing to encourage them.

Yes, I visited Tallinn last year. It is a charming walled city, with a very un-communist feel about it now.

It has lots of Cafe's and designer cloths shops. Lots of local girls is little black mini-skirts! Perfect really.

All of the Baltic ports that I visited were just fascinating. Those of you that have only cruises to tropical islands, are really missing out in my opinion!

HI Pam,

Thanks for the review. It was very good and I'm happy to hear good things about the ship. I was able to go onboard last December while the Crown Dynasty was in Barbados and thought she was a lovely ship. Now even better by being part of the Fred.Olsen fleet.

The Braemar will be sailing from Barbados on 14 night roundtrip cruises starting on the 2nd of January and we are very excited to see her come. We are the General Sales agents in Barbados for Fred Olsen and have always had great reviews on the Black Watch. So this review only helps to highten my expectation of things to come and makes selling her all that much better.

Our General Manager was invited, and sailed, on her pre-inaugaral to Antrep in early August and enjoyed it. (he has sailed Black Watch a number of times and had just returned from their 14night Spitzbergan Cruise).

Thanks again and Can't wait to see her when she arrives in January.

Thanks Sunniebgi. She's a beauty, and I'm sure you won't have much trouble filling her Would be interesting to know what your thoughts are when you see her in Jan, being able to compare as Crown Dynasty.
