I think that we will see just about all of the 'classic' ships lost in the next 5-10 years, at most. I'm affraid that does include the QE2 and Norway, in my opinion!
I wonder what tomorrows 'Classics' will be regarded as? After all some of them must already be with us now?

Cruise Guy, I'm sure that you are very right!
However, the 'Royal Viking Star' (now Olsen's 'Black Watch')will have her 30th Birthday in June 2002! The 'Song of Norway' (Airtours 'Sundream') was 30 years old on Novemver 2000!
I give them both 5 - 10 years of service, at a maximum! So we had better start appreciating them while they are still with us!

I totally agree Dambrosia, yet I'm sure that at least some of them will go on to be regarded as 'classics' in the future!
Maybe future CruiseTalkers will look at the 'Grand Princess', sigh and say "they sure don't build them like that anymore"?
My only doubt is that I can't see modern ships having a 30-40 career.
