We've been on a couple of cruises previously one with Celebrity/Century for 7 days in the Caribbean and one with Airtours/Sunbird of 14 days in the Med. I've had a look at the brochures and although you can fly up to 36 weeks with a medical certificate it looks like the cruise lines won't take you after 27/28 weeks. This means I'd need to be cruising before the second week in May. Wouldn't want a long flight so probably looking somewhere in Europe and just for 7 days. Hopefully morning sickness will be long gone so that shouldn't be a problem however would want to know that standards of hygiene and food were up to scratch.
Any suggestions, advice, do's don'ts etc?

Congratulations!
Yes I think that would be best to pick a major cruise line and a newer ship. I would avoid the 'budget' lines, in your position.
The Med. is the obvious choice in terms of the April/May date and it's a short flight. Unfortunately, ships do not cruise to Norway and the Balic until the summer, so that is two less choices. Additionally, in April/May many ships are still in the Caribbean - but not all of them!
P&O spring to mind as having a very good reputation, but you will have to pay for it! Check out Aurora and Oriana. Also check out NCL and RCI, as I am pretty sure that they will be cruising Europe during those months.
You may find a few longer cruises which depart and return from UK ports - no flying!
Do take out insurance! Arranging your own 'Direct Cover' is always better value (in the UK anyway) than taking the cruise lines own.
Don't pay the full brochure price. A specialist Travel Agent will give you 5-10% extra off, on-top of the brochure discounts and rates.
Claire, do let us know which cruise you pick, how it goes, and the details when the junior cruiser arrives!
Holland America's policy is that they will not accept reservations for women who will be 24 or more weeks pregnant at the time their travel concludes, so maybe the other lines have this same policy and not the 27/28 weeks as you stated. Best check on it.
I agree with Malcolm and Diana re picking a Major Cruise line.
Good Luck.
