Strange to see how the new Hurtigruten- ships has developed to be more and more like cruiseships. If they put in the service and entertaiment now, they will be true cruiseships!

Yes Trollfjord is a bit(ok, ok...very) boxy. But she is ment to be a tool for passengers and cargo to go from port to port, and to allow tourists to see the nature on the coast of Norway. The builders ment this was the best design for doing that...so why not build her boxy and good instead of beautiful and less good?

Thanks
I was in the midst of posting a link to Bart's site, but my connection died first... However, I am glad to see that Aleks posted the same thing . As for her appearance, I actually think that she is rather attractive. Most certainly the mid-generation ships (Narvik, Vesteralen, Midnatsol) are far uglier, though still good ships I think...
I have a Coastal Voyage in the back of my mind as something I would like to experience...
I eagerly await interior photos of Trollfjord so I can compare her with Finnmarken...
Also, I think Trollfjord will have an identical sister, to replace Midnatsol? And that OVDS and TFDS will merge?
Happy Cruising,CruiseNY

I can't see much wrong with her (it) - considering the service to be provided. I sort of like the 'bay' windows.
Will look out for interior shots. Thanks for posting.

Most people I know, who have traveled with the hurtigruten, does it just for pleasure. It´s often cheaper and faster to travel by buss, local fast- ferrys or by air.
To cruiseny:I read in the paper to day that they are considering to build two more sisterships Both at Fosen Mek.I wans´t able to take any interior photos, but I could see that she had a large atrium! The first in the fleet. I´ll take some pictures of her interiors next week, when she comes back...
There will be many cahnges to the Hurtigruten from now on...nothing is for sure yet, but I read that OVDS and TFDS possible will merge, the government will stop to subsidize Hurtigruten, and some ports will be skipped.
