Well, I'm back from 6 glorious days on the QE2, 3 days in London, and a Concorde flight home. I'll post a review later, but this was an absolutely incredible journey. The QE2 was perfect. I've posted some pics at this site:

http://community.webshots.com/user/nathr101

Stephen Payne was one of the lecturers, and I'll post some QM2 highlights soon. But let me say this -- the QM2 will be a true ocean liner. I'll post the highlights from his lecture shortly.

Great photos, Nathan. Is there any way you could describe what each picture is - like "Buckingham Palace", etc. That one we know, but what are the other shots of.
Hope I can take as good pictures with my new Digital if I ever learn how to use it.!!!!!!!

Glad you had a good time and looking foward to your review.

Hello,

Welcome home, glad you had a good time, love the photos.

Can't wait to hear the QM2 details. Guess you couldn't take any photos of what was on hand .

Did they show you the deck plans ?

Happy Cruising (oops, crossing),
Cruiseny

I don't know about UK pricing, but here in the US we can get a QE2 crossing (in a cheap Mauretania cabin), 3 nights first class hotel in London w/breakfast and return (or outbound, depending on crossing direction) airfare on Virgin Atlantic for $1199. Not bad. And airfare upgrade (to premium economy, NOT to Upper Class or Concorde) is not too pricey.

Concorde, or a fancy cabin like Nathan's is another story.

I would love to go on QE2 one day. I have little desire to fly Concorde. I'm not a nervous flier but when I hear that you can actually measure in inches the legnthening of the plane at such speed, it rather makes me want to vomit.

That said, I don't think I would, I sail and fly very well. Oddly enough I do get motion-sick, in some older American cars, the land-boat types, that have a 'floaty' ride, I get motion sick. Not on ships or in planes. Go figure.

Happy Cruising,
Cruiseny

Thanks Nathan - must show these pixs to my daughter as London is one of her favourite places - she was there in April.

There's nothing much in it, but it's the Concorde element I would enjoy too. It's roughly £2500, when I checked the other day.

Welcome home - nice pics Nathan!

I hope that you will write a review for cruisetalk? Maybe you might like to add a few images to the cruisetal photo-gallery?

I like to do a QE2 crossing before the old girl retires (the ship NOT my wife). I's also like to try Concord, but it is just too expensive for my pocket. The supplement would buy me another cruise!

I'm glad you posted the photos of the liner. If I don't get to go on her. Places like webshots and our
beloved website/forum will afford me the opportunity to print them up and put them
in a scrapbook. I wish the cruise lines would all do the original booklets like Costa did or the French Line
did. Those were the days. Thanks for putting up the photos Nathan.

Nice pics. Thanks for posting them.

We're very much looking forward to our Rotterdam "cruise extension" with a stay in London this summer. One of our favorite cities and it's been a while since we've been there.
Your photos make me eager.

Malcom! It is Concorde, with an 'e' at the end!

You should know that Concorde was a joint British-French project, and as such, the only possible compromise on the name (British wanted Concord, French wanted Concorde) would be to spell it the French way .

Happy Cruising,
Cruiseny
