I worded on the Sunward II, Starward, and SS Norway from 80-81. The skyward was a cool ship but I heard that cups and glasses used to rattle and fall off the tables at certain times due to the vibration of the ship.

I went to google.com and typed in ms starward and a couple of sites came up.

Try this one
http://msintx.com/HTML-Pages/Non-USAorCanada%20Trips/Carib-7405.htm

Google seems to have lots of access to the obscure stuff.

Good Luck

The SKYWARD is currentlw cruising in Asia under its new name LEISURE WORLD. Unfortunately it is no longer on the US or European market. I have detailed info about her but not here in my office. I'll post them later on today.

Hello,

Bderian, Skyward was nearly identical to Starward.

Patrick, interested to see that info - I haven't heard much of her since she disappeared maybe 10 years ago and almost forgot about her existance ...

Happy Cruising,
Cruiseny

Yes the Starward and Skyward were almost identical in design and layout. There was just something odd about the skyward though in regards to vibrations in the Dining Room. We all used to make fun of her on the other ships. I don't know if we ever found out why it vibrated so much.

The LEISURE WORLD does gambling cruises, and according to some reports, she also carries some "ladies of ill repute"
She still looks more or less like she did originally. Only the superstructure has been extended a bit towards the stern.

When i entered this Spring the Harbour of Singapore, the Leisure World leaves on Berth to make Place for the Astor, on which i was.

It is a nice and well looking Ship (from outside). A Sistership of the BOLERO.

She is a little bit stretched on an upper Deck forward, to make more Place.

The other Ship at the same Time in Singapore was HAL's new AMSTERDAM. Very nice, too.
