Bernard - have a wonderful time. Don't forget to say "hello" to the HM and his wife, whom I am sure you will meet.
Sounds like a great trip.

I expect I'll be on the Stanley Park seawall, by the little lighthouse below the Lion's Gate Bridge as you sail from Vancouver - I'll be the one that glows a shade of envious-green! Have a good one.

Bernard,

Hope you have a chance to see this message before you sail on Monday.

I actually have 2 friends aboard who are doing the entire incredible round-trip! Something like 64 days I think. The ship will be calling into Sydney on 6 November, but I shall miss them as I will be in Italy awaiting my MSC cruise on Melody to Western Med on 11 November. Being the great cruisers they are, they understand my reasons for not seeing them.

They are Lee and Kathy Waters - Lee is a retired US Navy Lieutenant Commander and has an obvious love of all things shipping and cruising and a fan of HAL. They are delightful company and I hope you have a chance to meet them.

They were our dining companions on a sector of P&O's Aurora world cruise from Honolulu to Sydney in February. They had cleverly arranged to pick up Oriana for the return journey from Sydney to San Francisco after a week here in Australia. We had a delightful time together here in Sydney and I watched them sail away with no small amount of envy.

Lee and Kathy are delightful company and I hope you have a chance to meet them, swap "tales of the sea" and enjoy Lee's dry sense of humour.

Best wishes for a wonderful cruise - happy sailing and Bon Voyage!
Robyn
