Hey Everyone,
We are going to send my Father-In-Law on a cruise and we were thinking about the Celebrity Horizon. I have heard that the food is very good and that the crowds are 50+ which are both in his favor. What about the ship stability? I know it's not a mega ship but how does it handle the seas?
Any other opions would be helpful.

She's a fine ship... Cabins are a good size though rather plainly furnished, there is a wide variety of rather attractive public rooms, nice deck space, etc... Nothing really special about this ship but a solid choice...

I can't comment on the details of the Celebrity product since it's been years since I've been on them... But the ship itself is quite a nice vessel.

I don't recall any problems in her handling of the seas... But hopefully someone here with fresher memories can fill you in on that.

I'd say if it is a really unique itinerary or a very good price, go for it, but it depends on the other options - there are of course more modern ships out there nowadays... Though there's not much competition on the summer NY-Bermuda run (just Nordic Empress) in the Caribbean in the winter there's a huge variety and there are much more interesting choices...

On the upside if you're allergic to megaships she's a breath of fresh air in the mid-priced seven-day Caribbean market.

We have been on the Horizon four times. Twice for ten days and twice for seven days. We were on Celebrity in June and found the service and food still very good.
It is not one of the glitzy ships that are now sailing but it is well laid out. Easy to get around. Smooth sailing, we went to Bermuda and to the Caribbean. It's passenger mix goes from young to sr. citizen. It depends on the cruise and length of cruise.

We would go back on it again with no problems.
