The site

http://www.cruiseweb.nl/aankomst.html

shows calls of ROTTERDAM and (!!!) OOSTERDAM at Rotterdam from 28.07.2003 - 30.07.03.

Is this a mistake or is it true that both ships will be there? I think ROTTERDAM is okay (cruise). But OOSTERDAM? But it is possible, because one day later the OOSTERDAM will come to Hamburg and will then go for Harwich where she will start her maiden voyage.

Any information about an OOSTERDAM call at Rotterdam?

Yes, Karsten, they will both be there but you have typed the wrong date in 30-8-03. Should be 30-07-03.

I don't know much about it, but was told the other day that both ships will be there for 3 days of celebrations.

I am sure someone else will have more information.

Yes, on 29 July there will be a namegivingceremony of the OOSTERDAM.
The ships will be berthed bow to bow and the bottle will be thrown from the ROTTERDAM.

Maasdam....Hope you enjoy having both ships there together. We loved sailing into Rotterdam on Rotterdam VI about 3 years ago. I woke very early and sat enthralled (and bundled into warm clothes as it was freezing!!!) on our veranda as we entered that huge harbor.

Hope you will share tales of some of the festivities with us.

It's good to now that you loved sailing to Rotterdam. I agree that sailing the Nieuwe Waterweg from the Hoek van Holland to the heart off Rotterdam is speciall. I hope you visit Rotterdam again in warm wether.

Great news indeed, and I will give Oosterdam and Rotterdam both a warm welcome as well
It is not everyday the Wilhelminakade is filed with HAL ships like it was in the old days. Oosterdam will set a record, she will be the biggest and longest HAL ship ever to dock at the Wilhelminakade.

I’m looking forward to this day.

Best, Onno
