I had clients on the R5 BLUE DREAM last week and they were absolutely satisfied about the ship and the product delivered by charterer Pullmantur Cruises.
The ship presents itself very clean and well maintained (she's not that old anyway...). Pullmantur Cruises has not changed any major things from before.
Software and service provided by a friendly and professional international service crew (crewing is still performed by Apollo Ship Chandler's like before) was excellent. It seemed they were extremely pleased to serve passengers once which were not from Spain like the fellow passengers onboard. Speaking Spanish is not the easiest for all of them as they are more used to English.
Food was of an excellent quality. There was lots of choice. Dining was handeled in two seatings except at the Italian restaurent where it is voluntary to chose the time.
Shows and entertainment was of a high level but not overentertained.
You'll find as well places to relax and Spanish passengers, which are often known as loud and full of temperament were much more pleasant and acceptable than most of Germans for example.
The ship has not lost anything compared its former time with Renaissance Cruises. The product is still at its high level it was known for before.
I can highly recommend Pullmantur Cruises and the R5 BLUE DREAM as well as its sistership R6 BLUE STAR to everybody, even if you don't speak Spanish but English.

I have heared similar good comments now about the REGATTA from Raoul Fiebig.
The DELPHIN RENAISSANCE is another ship of this class doing extremely well but with the difference that MTC and Delphin Seereisen employed their product on the ship for which they were known for on the DELPHIN.
The elegance goes definitely with them.
Also Princess Cruises got very good reviews for the PACIFIC PRINCESS and TAHITIAN PRINCESS as well as the MINERVA II from Swan Hellenic for British Passangers.
It seems that all former R-class ships do still offer a product of a high level and none of them lost anything compared to the Renaissance times.

From all of them I'd say that Oceania Cruises currently offers the most perfect product while all other lines do extremely well too.

Good luck to all R-ships !!! Go on like this !!!

the crewing onboard pullmantur ships is not done by apollo ships chandlers any more.
there are quite a lot of former apollo crew working for pullmanturcruises by now but recruiting is done by the company itself

Found following on Maritime Matters:

Oceania Adds to REGATTA
September 29: Two days ago Oceania Cruises took redelivery of the INSIGNIA from its French charterer and will refit the ship for an April launch. NAUTICA (ex R5) is expected to join REGATTA and INSIGNIA after completing her current charter to a Spanish tour operator in the spring and then enter service with Oceania in 2005.

Willem,

Good news indeed!

We've just taken re-delivery of Insignia in Marseille this past sunday and are gearing up for her launch in April. Following her debut in Europe, she'll spend the winter season in South America cruising the Amazon and Chilean Fjords.

We're hoping to finalize a delivery schedule and the details surrounding the addition of Nautica quite soon.

I've just returned from two weeks aboard Regatta and she's quite an impressive ship.

Best,

Tim
