If you have a car a nice day trip would be to go down to St. Augustine. About 1 hour south of Jacksonville.

I don't know the port of Jacksonville but I know the ZENITH !!!
My personal opinion is that the ZENITH, as well as her sister HORIZON, are still the nicest Celebrity liners afloat.
I have spend lots of time on the ZENITH and I know the ship in every corner.
It's a ship which is decorated in European style, very classic (not at all overstyled) and has beautiful public lounges. Nicest spot is certainly the Fleet Bar but I also like the Rendez-Vous Bar and Rainbow Room. The former Scorpio Disco has disappered to provide space for a Michael's Club, library and card room. The Harry's Tavern has been changed into a Cova Cafe Milano.
A new Martini Bar, Art Gallery and a shop have been added in the former library and card room.
Those new additions actually upgraded the ship and followed Celebrity's traditions.
With a size of only 47911 grt the ship can now be called a medium-sized ship which, compared to her newer sisters, still offers far more "water-contact" to passengers on the open-decks.
Food, as always onboard, is excellent, as well is the service.
If the ship would come to Europe, I'd not hesitate a minute to book a cruise on her as she is still one of my favorite ships afloat.
I would certainly also cruise in the Caribbean or to Bermuda (one of the most beautiful destination to which ZENITH and HORIZON call) if there was not the long flight from Europe....
But be sure that you'll have an excellent time and, if you like the more classic ships of a medium size, you'll certainly enjoy the ZENITH.
By the way, I have sold the same cruise to four of my clients, also departing on Nov. 9th.

St. Augustine should take a full day. There are trolleys (tractor or horse powered) that give a nice overview. There are also boat rides around the harbor.

There is the Old Quarter with authentic old Spanish buildings and shops. Across the street is Fort Mantanzas, a national park.

Across the Bridge of Lions, there is the lighthouse and an alligator farm.

The beaches are pretty good.

Closer to where the ship will dock are two national beaches. You can usually drive your car out on the beach at one.

A little farther north is Amelia Island and Fernandina. The drive on A1A is lovely with marshes, sand dunes and wildlife.

In downtown Fernandina there are shops and restaurants. The town reminds me of Mystic, Connecticut.

Just as a note: there is very little to do in downtown Jacksonville.
